England prop Alex Corbisiero believes lock Maro Itoje has all the makings of a future national team captain. The 21-year old Saracens lock has impressed during Englands Six Nations triumph and will once again start for Eddie Jones side in Saturdays finale against France, following a man of the match performance against Wales last weekend.Corbisiero, who is currently on a year-long break from rugby to heal from an array of injuries, told Sky Sports News HQ he believes Itoje is on his way to becoming one of the best in the world - and maybe even a future England skipper. Alex Corbisiero announced in December that he would be taking a year away from rugby to heal from a number of injuries. I think he is a real world class standout in the making. I remember seeing him in the summer at the World Cup camp, and seeing him in that environment face to face. I was thinking this guy is going to be world class, said Corbisiero. This year, he has played amazingly well for Saracens. He had to wait for his opportunity, and he got it. And now, hes announced himself on the international stage. His physicality, athletic ability and his rugby brain and skill-set make him the potential to be as good as you can be in that position.Theyre going to bring him along slowly and gradually as he becomes more cemented in that team. Hell get more and more of a leadership role going forward. England will be looking to add the Grand Slam to their Triple Crown success in this years championship Hes a hard worker and a leader and I do see him as a potential England captain in the making in the next few years. They dont need to rush him, but hes a potential standout.England coach Jones has made two changes to the side to face France, as England look to secure their first Six Nations Grand Slam since 2003.Mako Vunipola replaces Joe Marler at loose-head prop, with Danny Care coming in at scrum-half in place of Ben Youngs. Mako Vunipola will take Joe Marlers place in Paris on Sunday Marler was cleared on Wednesday of striking Wales Rob Evans, making him available to face France, but Corbisiero believes the uncertainty over whether Marler would be suspended or not is why he is moved to the bench.I feel the disruption is what contributed to it. Maybe Eddie might have wanted to go with consistency in the week, and no question mark of how its going to go, added Corbisiero.Mako is a great option and a great player to have in his place. I think Eddie went for the least disruption by banking on someone he knew was going to be available. Erik Johnson, John Mitchell and Nathan MacKinnon lit the lamp in the second period for the Avalanche, who have won three in a row and seven of 10 overall. Semyon Varlamov snagged the win thanks to a 37-save performance. Brett Ritchie, Colton Sceviour and Ales Hemsky scored for the Stars, losers of four straight since winning four in a row. Kari Lehtonen stopped 26 shots in defeat. I thought we did a better job at the end of the game. It felt like we could just get that one (game-tying goal), said Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski. We played all right for a while in the second, but they got the momentum back with the quick two. Thats something teams have done against us this year. On the opening shift of the third, Duchene used his body as a shield to ward off a Stars defender, circled behind the Dallas net and lifted a wrister from the left circle to give the hosts a 4-2 edge. That was something Ive done before. Sometimes it just does not go in. This time it did, Duchene said of his first goal since Dec. 11. I kind of took my time there and was able to score it. Hopefully that ended the only kind of stretch like that Ill go through this season. Hemsky brought his club back to a goal at 2:38, but Colorados defense and Varlamov combined to hold that margin. Varlamov stoned Jason Spezza from the right siide with less than 30 seconds to go, and when Alex Tanguay was booked for hooking, the Stars skated 6-on-4 in the final 18 ticks.dddddddddddd The visitors failed to squeeze off a quality chance until the buzzer. Just 27 seconds into the contest, a turnaround shot from between the circles by Tyler Seguin nipped Ritchie and beat Varlamov. Sceviour doubled the Dallas edge on a backhander from the slot at 9:24. Johnson finally provided some offense for the hosts at 7:18 of the second period with a low shot from the right circle and Mitchell evened things at 8:43 on a rocket from the left point. MacKinnon made it 3-2 when he crashed the crease and managed to dislodge his own rebound which sat alongside Lehtonens right pad so that it slid over the goal line with nine seconds left before intermission. Goals just arent easy at times, but Ill take it. There was a lot of waiting, but Im thankful they called it good, MacKinnon mentioned of what became just his third goal since mid-November.
