A look at a possible Redskins mock draft scenario"WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections Looks Like Someone Has A Sixpack Of The MondaysDaily SlopRedskins RecapsEDTShareTweetShareShareRedskins Mock Draft Scenario: Trading for RosenKelvin Kuo-USA TODAY SportsFor this Mock Draft Scenario using On the Clock Simulator I decided to combine two possible concepts for the Redskins. First I decided to trade the Redskins 2nd round pick and any additional selections in 2020 to the Cardinals for QB Josh Rosen. I then decided to trade back in the first round to add some extra key selections to round out the Redskins roster. As always you can follow along with the draft here: https://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/sharedraft.php?d=bqybcv32: G CHRIS LINDSTROM Wes Martin Jersey , BOSTON COLLEGE-This is not the flashy pick ost people are looking for, but Lindstrom is a strong combination of safety and upside. He has All-Pro potential and could give the Redskins the best offensive line in the league. He’s a plug and play guy, who will help both Rosen and the Redskins run game from day 1. Trade: QB Josh Rosen--Redskins have to address their QB need and if they can land Rosen for just their 2nd and a lesser piece or two next year they have to take it. Rosen had a rough rookie campaign, but the upside is there and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him have a strong 2nd season.56: WR PARRIS CAMPBELL, OHIO STATE-Redskins are desperate for weapons and that becomes an even greater concern if they trade for Rosen. Currently the Redskins receiver group is among the bottom 5 of the league. Adding a dynamic playmaker like Campbell would be an immediate injection into their offense. He still needs to improve as a route runner, but when the ball is in his hands good things happen. He can create big plays any time he touches it, and he should easily take on the number 1 role on the team. 76: EDGE OSHANE XIMINES, OLD DOMINION-Ximines isn’t the top EDGE the Redskins are hoping for, but he’s a guy who can be productive and offer the Redskins a quality option. Ximines is generally a raw talent, but he has a solid athletic profile and impressive first step. He should push for a starting role (or at least the majority portion of a platoon) as a rookie and and can develop into a full time player down the road. 96: CB ISAIAH JOHNSON, HOUSTON-Johnson is an impressive 2nd tier corner in this class who should go somewhere in the 50-100 pick range. He ran a 4.4 at the Combine and offers impressive size and length. He’s still developing at the position, but he would be a natural successor to Josh Norman in 2020.101: TE KAHALE WARRING, SAN DIEGO STATE-Warring is quickly rising up draft boards as a raw prospect, with the upside to be a number 1 TE for a team in a couple of years. He has really good size and impressive athletic ability. His technique and route running need some work Womens Bryce Love Jersey , but he showcases himself as a natural pass catcher. With the Redskins keeping both Reed and Davis this year, they wouldn’t have to force Warring into a large role and could let him develop over time. 123: S MARQUISE BLAIR, UTAH-I made a trade up into the 4th round to land a safety. With passing on a safety with some earlier picks, options were running thin on guys who can contribute. Blair has good athleticism and is a heavy hitter on the backend. While he wouldn’t necessarily start as a rookie, but he should push Nicholson for the role. Blair could carve out a solid amount of playing time as a rookie, and has the chance to start long term. 153: WR STANLEY MORGAN JR., NEBRASKA-Morgan is getting overlooked in this talented receiver group, but that could end up making him a steal in this draft. Morgan doesn’t stand out in any one area, but is solid across the board. He’s one of the safer receivers in this class and should quickly be able to contribute, both in the slot and on the outside. 227: OT TREY PIPKINS, SIOUX FALLS-Pipkins is a long tackle with intriguing developmental upside. He’s likely a long term project, which is why he will probably slide to the 6th or 7th round. While there is a chance he could make the 53 man roster, he might need a year on the practice squad. If the Redskins are patient with him though he could turn out to be s surprise sleeper.253: RB JALIN MOORE, APPALACHIAN STATE-While the Redskins are set at RB this year https://www.theredskinslockerroom.com/authentic-terry-mclaurin-jersey , that could change by 2020 with Peterson, Perine and potentially Thompson all off the roster. Moore is a solid RB prospect who is coming off an injury filled season. He’s the type of player the Redskins can probably stash on the practice squad for a year and hope he reaches his potential. Overview:This is the ideal draft strategy and class for the Redskins to quickly compete. Rosen gives them a young franchise QB, who already has had his growing pains. While he might not have the sophomore year of Patrick Mahomes, it wouldn’t be surprising if produced like Jared Goff did his 2nd season. To help out Rosen early the Redskins add a pair of high upside starters in Lindstrom and Campbell. Both should be key cogs in the Redskins offense as rookies and fill major needs. They also both can develop into top level players at their positions in future seasons. Stanley Morgan is another offensive player who should be able to help contribute as a rookie. While Warring is a bit more raw, his long term upside is impressive and he could be the team’s top TE by 2021. Defensively the Redskins don’t land any studs, but Ximines should see plenty of playing time as a rookie. I see mixed results early on, but he has 10+ sack potential. Johnson and Blair should also both contribute as rookies and could be starters by next season. What do you think? If they trade for Rosen, would you then trade back as well? Jimmy Garoppolo's first two games of the season have been a mixed bag, with his shining moments counterbalanced by mistakes.A stern challenge awaits San Francisco's young quarterback Sunday when the 49ers travel to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs."We know it's going to be loud," Garoppolo said before Wednesday's practice. "I played there my rookie year (with New England) and it was rocking. So we know what we're in for."Sunday's game features an intriguing matchup of two young quarterbacks who benefited from the expert tutelage of the veterans they once played behind. After serving as a backup to Tom Brady for three seasons, Garoppolo was traded from New England to San Francisco and looked sensational in five games to close out the 2017 season, which led to a five-year, $137.5 million contract for the 26-year-old.Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes soaked in all he could from Alex Smith as a rookie in 2017. Smith was traded to Washington in the offseason, and Mahomes has responded with an NFL-best 10 touchdowns so far Montez Sweat Jersey , the most by a quarterback in NFL history over the first two games. He has yet to be picked off. While the 49ers' defense has a challenge in slowing down the Chiefs' high-powered attack, Garoppolo and the offense simply want to avoid the potentially game-changing mishaps that they've been susceptible to over the first two weeks.Garoppolo had an interception returned for a touchdown in the opener at Minnesota, a play on which receiver Kendrick Bourne ran the wrong route. Garoppolo threw three picks total in that loss and Alfred Morris lost a fumble inside the Vikings 5-yard line. Then in Sunday's 30-27 victory over Detroit, Garoppolo threw a fourth-quarter interception that would have been a game-changer were it not nullified by a Lions holding penalty. It came out later that rookie receiver Dante Pettis ran the wrong route on that play, but it was still an ill-advised throw by Garoppolo.Being on the same page in the passing game is a key to avoiding those kinds of mistakes. And good communication can be a challenge when dealing with the crowd noise at Arrowhead."I think it starts with the week of practice," Garoppolo said. "We want to go out there and be perfect on every play call 鈥?how we hear it, how we communicate with each other between series, all that stuff. It's a lot of little things coming together."The 49ers hope for the healthy return of veteran receiver Marquise Goodwin, who missed Sunday's game because of a bruised thigh. Goodwin practiced Wednesday for the first time since that injury, but he looked to be holding back a bit while running routes during the portion of practice open to reporters. play against Kansas City.NOTES: Linebacker Reuben Foster was added to the 49ers active roster after serving a two-game suspension for violating the NFL's policies of conduct and substances of abuse. Foster is expected to start at inside linebacker against the Chiefs, but coach Kyle Shanahan was non-committal about whether rookie Fred Warner, who has been a bright spot through two games, would remain in the lineup if Foster starts. Offensive lineman Matt Tobin was released to clear a roster spot for Foster. ... Strong safety Jaquiski Tartt (shoulder) and guard Joshua Garnett (toe) did not practice. Goodwin was limited as was cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon (ankle) and guard Mike Person (foot).
