As a QuickBooks user for over the last five years, I can safely confirm that the steps mentioned below can resolve the error message stating - “Intuit Data Protect has stopped working”.
Open the run window and search for the firewall.cp. Select Allow Another app after clicking on Allow an app through Windows Firewall. Navigate to the Data Protect Folder in the Program Files (x86) folder and choose QBIDPservice.exe. Click on Open and select Network Types. Put a checkmark on the Private box and select Add.
