OAKLAND, Calif. Benson Mayowa Cardinals Jersey . -- With a fabulous finish to the preseason, rookie Derek Carr created a big question for the Oakland Raiders heading into the regular season. Carr threw three touchdown passes to make a case he should be Oaklands starting quarterback as the Raiders beat the Seattle Seahawks 41-31 on Thursday night. Carr was almost perfect in the start in place of Matt Schaub, completing 11 of 13 passes for 143 yards and led Oakland (2-2) to four touchdowns in four drives. "Lets not burry our head in the sand," coach Dennis Allen said. "But I havent changed anything. I think were in good shape where were at with all of our quarterbacks and I feel good about being in the position were in." Schaub was anointed the starter after being acquired in an off-season trade from Houston. Coach Dennis Allen hasnt deviated from that plan even as Schaub struggled in the preseason before resting this game with a sore throwing elbow. Now the question will be if Carrs strong performance that included one touchdown drive against Seattles first-team defence or Schaubs health will be enough to change that plan before the opener against the New York Jets on Sept. 7. "Thats up for coach Allen to talk about," Carr said. "My job is to come in and compete my tail off and help this team win." The Seahawks (2-2) have no questions about their starting quarterback. Russell Wilson made the most of a brief cameo, completing three passes for 77 yards, including a 25-yard touchdown pass to Luke Willson on a four-play drive to open the game. "When I look back at this preseason the thing that jumps out at me is what our offence was able to do when the first group was in there," coach Pete Carroll said. "Russell had a phenomenal preseason statistically in every way. That group looks ready to play." The bigger question for the Super Bowl champions coming into this game was whether former Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor could show enough to earn a spot on the roster as a third quarterback. Pryor, booed by his former fans, played his best game of the preseason, going 11 for 17 for 134 yards and a 33-yard touchdown pass to Phil Bates. He also ran for 12 yards on four carries. DeShawn Shead also scored on a 55-yard interception return on a pass thrown by Matt McGloin. But this night was all about Carr, who said he was "less rookie" than he was two weeks ago with the starting offence when he yelled out the play in the huddle so loud that his teammates were afraid the defence could hear the call. The second-round pick out of Fresno State made the most of the starting assignment. He completed five passes on the opening drive, including a third-down conversion to Denarius Moore, who was covered by All-Pro Richard Sherman. Latavius Murray capped the drive with a 5-yard TD run. "I was really excited that they played," Carr said of Seattles starting defence. "You obviously want to play against the best. They have the ring to prove it. Thats what were chasing." Carr was just getting started, leading back-to-back one-play touchdown drives following big special teams plays. After a fumbled kickoff by Bryan Walters, Carr threw a 36-yard TD pass to Moore on the following play to give the Raiders a 14-7 lead. TJ Carries 45-yard punt return set up Oaklands next drive at the Seattle 20. On the next play, Carr threw a TD pass to Mychal Rivera, who made a great adjustment on a pass that was deflected by Malcolm Smith. Carr ended his night with an eight-play touchdown drive, capping it with a perfectly placed back-shoulder 11-yard throw to Moore. That gave Oakland a 28-7 lead and sent the crowd into a frenzy rarely seen in the preseason. That ended Carrs night and started what could be more than a week of questions about the opening day starter. "The great thing is we have three guys who could start at quarterback for us," Allen said. "Im very happy with where were at with the quarterback room. The biggest thing is to see where Matt is when he comes in Monday." NOTES: Walters had five kick returns for 137 yards, two punt returns for 13 yards and three catches for 47 yards as he tries to earn a spot on Seattles roster. ... Undrafted rookie George Atkinson III had eight carries for 63 yards for Oakland. ... McGloin threw a TD pass to Brice Butler, the fourth time the two had connected on a scoring play this preseason. The off-track strife has obscured the sporting promise provided by the season opener in Australia. The race in Melbourne defied those naysayers worried about the reliability of the new V6 turbo engines by having 15 finishers and a welcome shake-up to the sports pecking order; Sebastian Vettel out of the race early, Mercedes winning but with lingering engine concerns, and McLaren and even Williams back in the fight. However the sports apparent eagerness to attach a cloud to every silver lining was on show again immediately after the checkered flag fell at Albert Park. Second-place finisher Daniel Ricciardo was disqualified from his home race for exceeding the new limits on fuel flow, and his Red Bull team immediately appealed, blaming the problem on a malfunction of the FIA-approved sensor fitted to each car. The appeal will be held on April 14, after the third race in Bahrain. Red Bull team owner Dietrich Mateschitz raised the stakes further by saying such disputes will be of more importance than money when it comes to deciding whether the energy drink maker stays in the sport beyond the short term. "The question is not so much whether it makes economic sense but the reasons would be to do with sportsmanship, political influence, and so on," Mateschitz said in an interview with Austrian newspaper Kurier. "In these issues there is a clear limit to what we can accept." The other political spat emerging out of the first race was over the sound, or lack of sound, made by the new engines. Compared to the high-pitched roar of the old V8 engines, the new powertrains produced a muted purr. The outgoing chief of the Australian Grand Prix, Ron Walker, even threatened to sue for breach of contract and said the engine sound will be a major talking point at a scheduled meeting of grand prix promoters next month. Walker is a strong ally of F1s commercial chief Bernie Ecclestone, who has always opposed the cleaner, greener engines and has used thhe issue as a wedge in his ongoing wrestle with the FIA for control of the sport. Josh Bynes Jersey. With F1s political heavyweights preoccupied by looming fights in courtrooms and boardrooms, the sports fans will be more concerned with the on-track battle which resumes at Sepang, outside Kuala Lumpur, this weekend. Mercedes is again the favourite, with Nico Rosberg having won comfortably in Australia. His fastest lap of the race was with a relatively heavy fuel load in the early stages, indicating he had plenty of speed in reserve had he needed it. Fellow Mercedes-powered team Williams looks the major threat on the race pace it showed in Melbourne, which was obscured by Felipe Massa being taken out at the first corner and Valtteri Bottas losing a wheel when he clipped a wall, costing him the likely podium finish. McLaren, which had its worst season in decades in 2013, is the surprise constructors championship leader after rookie Kevin Magnussen and Jenson Button were promoted to second and third respectively by Ricciardos disqualification. But the teams trackside chief Eric Boullier acknowledged that was flattering. "Its true that Mercedes and Williams have some pace, maybe between half and three quarters of a second quicker than the rest of the field," Boullier said. Ferrari had a mediocre performance in Melbourne and technical director James Allison agreed that "we have our work cut out to improve our car in order to compete on equal terms with the Mercedes team." Mercedes technical principal Paddy Lowe hinted that the teams advantage could be even more pronounced in Malaysia. "Sepang is a permanent race track which is generally a lot more differentiating of the cars; particularly with regard to aerodynamics," Lowe said. "As always, reliability and endurance will be crucial, but we believe this venue will provide a more accurate representation of the relative pace between teams." There will be a sombre note to the race in Sepang, as it is a short distance from Kuala Lumpurs airport, from where the ill-fated Malaysian Airlines plane this month took off on a flight which authorities now say resulted in it crashing into the ocean, killing all on board Cheap Twins JerseysWholesale Royals JerseysCheap Tigers JerseysAuthentic Indians JerseysCheap White Sox JerseysDiscount Blue Jays JerseysWholesale Rays JerseysCheap Yankees JerseysDiscount Red Sox JerseysDiscount Orioles JerseysDiscount Astros JerseysCheap Angels JerseysCheap Athletics JerseysCheap Mariners JerseysRangers Jerseys From ChinaBraves Jerseys OutletCheap Marlins JerseysWholesale Mets JerseysWholesale Phillies JerseysCheap Nationals JerseysCubs Jerseys From ChinaReds Jerseys From ChinaCheap Brewers JerseysWholesale Pirates JerseysCheap Cardinals JerseysCheap Diamondbacks JerseysAuthentic Rockies JerseysDodgers Jerseys From ChinaWholesale Padres JerseysGiants Jerseys From China ' ' '
