LOS ANGELES -- Pablo Sandoval moved into the cleanup spot and broke out of his slump. Kris Draper Jersey . Sandoval and Hector Sanchez hit RBI singles in the 10th inning, and the San Francisco Giants recovered to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-4 Sunday after closer Sergio Romo gave up a tying homer to Hanley Ramirez. "Im happy, but Im not satisfied. I just want to do better for my teammates and the team," Sandoval said. "Youve got to keep focused and keep working hard, because everything is going to come back. So I dont worry too much about it. I just try to stay positive and keep fighting and have the faith that I can do it." Sandoval, who began the day hitting .173, was 3 for 5 with two RBIs. His other six RBIs this season came when he was batting third. "He was pretty excited about where he was hitting today, and he asked me how much I had to drink last night," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "I know its been frustrating for him, but hes been making better contact, and it just seems like hes got some confidence going. More than anything, hes got a little bit of a swagger right now, and hes got to keep that. Hopefully this will be something he can build on." San Francisco needs Sandoval to start producing in the middle of the lineup, especially with Brandon Belt sidelined for at least six weeks because of a broken thumb. "It was nice to see him go out there and get three knocks," Giants pitcher Tim Hudson said about Sandoval. "You know the great player is in there. And for him to get back to being that great player, its between the ears. Once he gets a little confidence going and believing in himself, hell be OK. We believe in him, and its something weve been saying for a long time." Sandovals run-scoring double in the first against Clayton Kershaw ended an RBI drought of 20 games and 68 at-bats for the switch-hitting third baseman since April 16 against the Dodgers. It was only the third hit with a runner in scoring position in a span of 27 at-bats for Sandoval, who clapped his hands as he went into second base standing up. "When you get the RBI to get ahead in the first inning against a tough pitcher like that, you have to be happy," Sandoval said. "Im happy that were winning and that were in first place." Brandon Hicks hit a two-run shot against the two-time NL Cy Young Award winner, and Buster Posey had an RBI single for the NL West leaders, who beat the defending division champions for the seventh time in 10 meetings this season. The Giants finished their road trip 7-3 and played errorless ball over the last five games. Romo (3-0) came on in the ninth to try and protect a 4-2 lead for Hudson. The right-hander struck out Yasiel Puig after a one-out double by Dee Gordon, but Ramirez lined his fifth homer to left field on an 0-1 pitch. The blown save was Romos first this season in 13 chances. Angel Pagan drew a leadoff walk in the 10th from Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen (0-2). Hunter Pence singled and both runners advanced on a wild pitch before Posey was intentionally walked. Sandoval and Sanchez delivered clutch hits, then Posey scored on J.P. Howells wild pitch. Jean Machi got three outs for his first major league save. Hudson allowed two runs and eight hits over six innings, including a leadoff homer in the sixth by Puig that extended his career-best hitting streak to 11 games. The right-hander went fewer than seven innings for the first time in eight starts this season. Kershaw allowed three runs and seven hits in his third start of 2014 and first at Dodger Stadium. The three-time defending major league ERA champ struck out nine and walked none in his second outing since coming off the disabled list. He also had nine Ks and no walks last Tuesday at Washington, when he pitched seven scoreless innings in an 8-3 win. Sandoval led off the seventh with a single and Hicks followed with his seventh homer, a drive to left field on an 0-2 curveball. The Giants have 45 homers through 38 games, their highest total at this stage of a season since 2001 (51). Hicks also went deep Thursday against Josh Beckett in the Giants series-opening win. "Its frustrating," Kershaw said. "The team played so well and we battled all day. Guys were making plays, getting big, clutch hits, moving guys over and playing the game the right way. So for me to give up that home run after just getting the lead right back is disappointing. Ive got to shut the door right there." Los Angeles grabbed a 2-1 lead in the sixth. Puig drove Hudsons first pitch of the inning into the Dodgers bullpen in left to tie it 1-all and flipped his bat after making contact. "It is what it is. I mean, boys will be boys," Hudson said. "Hes an emotional player and he hit the (stuffing) out of it. I probably would have flipped the bat, too." Ramirez then legged out a double and Adrian Gonzalez followed with an RBI single that ended a 2-for-33 slide. Gonzalez tried to score from second on Drew Buteras single to centre, but Pagan threw him out at the plate. LOUIS -- The St.Mark Buehrle set the tone to what has been a dominating start to the season with a near-shutout victory over Tampa Bay back in early April. The veteran will now shoot for his Major League-leading ninth victory of the campaign against the club as the Toronto Blue Jays play the middle contest of a three-game set on Tuesday night versus the Rays. Buehrle went 12-10 in 33 starts with the Blue Jays last season, posting a 4.15 earned run average in his first season with the franchise. However, he has appeared more comfortable in 2014, going 8-1 through 10 starts with a 2.16 ERA. He has not allowed more than two runs in nine of those outings and at 35 years of age is the oldest pitcher to win at least eight of his first 10 starts since both Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling went 8-1 in 2002 with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Buehrles season began with a victory over Tampa Bay on April 2, when he struck out a season-high 11 batters over 8 2/3 scoreless innings. That improved the hurler to 9-5 with a 4.21 ERA in 23 career meetings with the Rays, 18 of those starts. The left-handed Buehrle has won four straight decisions since suffering his only loss of the season on April 25 versus Boston. He got revenge for that setback last time out on Thursday, limiting the Red Sox to a pair of runs over seven frames of a 7-2 win. In the process, he became baseballs first eight-game winner and only St. Louis Adam Wainwright has been able to join him since. "Its nice, obviously," Buehrle said. "I try to throw it out the window and get ready for my next start." Buehrle should have some room to work with tonight if the Blue Jays can continue their hot hitting. Toronto went deep three times in Mondays 10-5 series-opening win, giving the club a homer in nine straight games and an MLB- high 73 home runs on the season. Edwin Encarnacion hit a solo homer versus the Rays and has hit nine homers over hiss last 11 games. Mike Green Jersey. He has also gone deep 13 times in May, breaking Jose Bautistas 2010 club record for most homers in the month. Dioner Navarro and Steve Tolleson hit consecutive home runs in the fourth inning in Torontos seventh straight victory and 10th in its past 11 games. That bailed out starter Drew Hutchison, who got the win despite giving up five runs over five innings. "Nothing was good, nothing was sharp," Hutchison said. The Rays had a four-game winning streak snapped despite getting home runs from Desmond Jennings, James Loney and David DeJesus as starter Erik Bedard yielded eight runs and 13 hits in four-plus frames. "They just put the heavy gloves on and beat us up tonight," Rays manager Joe Maddon said. That kind of output could be enough to win tonight given Alex Cobbs current 21 2/3 scoreless-innings streak he carries into this start. That run is the third-longest in team history, behind Matt Moores 22 1/3-inning stretch last season and James Shields club-record mark of 23 consecutive innings set in 2011. Cobb has not allowed a run since giving up four over five innings of a loss to Toronto on April 1 in his first start of the season, dropping to 2-1 lifetime with a 2.95 ERA versus Toronto. The 26-year-old followed up that loss to the Blue Jays with consecutive scoreless outings before a trip to the disabled list caused by a left oblique strain. He returned to action for the first time in nearly six weeks on Thursday and shut out Oakland over 6 2/3 innings, scattering three hits and two walks while fanning six in a no-decision. "He was outstanding," said Maddon of Cobb, who is 1-1 with a 1.40 ERA on the year. "Having been off as long as he had, you saw the stuff, the strike throwing, the competitive nature." The Blue Jays have won three of five versus the Rays this season.
