General manager Jim Rutherford knows that all too well as he served as the GM of the Hurricanes franchise from 1994-2014 before joining Pittsburgh this past offseason. During his tenure with Carolina, Rutherfords teams made a Cup Finals appearance in 2002 and then won the Stanley Cup in 2006.
