The Florida Panthers will have an array of options when it comes to the first-overall selection in tonights NHL Draft. According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, the Panthers are considering a number of trade options for the pick, including those from teams picking outside of the top 10 selections. Many of those offers are believed to be centred around current NHL players. Dreger adds that the Panthers do not plan on making their decision on whether to trade the top pick on the draft floor, and therefore will likely make a decision prior to the kick-off of the first round. A Unifor spokesperson said internal meetings will be held Wednesday as the union continues to put leadership plans in place for the project. However, there are no firm plans to meet with players at this time. "Once we feel that we have everything in order, then well call that meeting," said Unifor spokesperson Sarah Blackstock. "We dont want to rush into anything and I think the stakes are really high. The need for the union is great and so weve got to move carefully and make sure that we get it right."
